The commission may take action on all matters specifically noticed on any agenda. In doing so, the commission may accept, reject, or modify any actions recommended or proposed by the department on any action item. Individual commissioners are not required to propose any requested modifications or changes to a department recommendation prior to a meeting and may do so by requesting one or more amendments to the department’s recommended motion language at the time of the meeting. Commissioners may, however, submit a written proposal to the department for a modification to a department recommendation prior to a meeting. In those instances, the department will post the proposed change and the department’s response (if any) to the meeting agenda website for public review and comment.
