Montana’s call to protect access, respect landowners, and keep our hunting traditions strong.

At the heart of this campaign are two key programs:

Hunter-Landowner Stewardship Program, which helps hunters build respect and trust with landowners by taking the video guide + test.
Thank a Landowner portal, a simple way to show gratitude to those who share their land. (Portal opening this fall.)

Hunter-Landowner Stewardship Video Guide + Test

Hunters are encouraged to prepare not just their gear, but also their mindset.

If you want to protect the hunt in Montana, take the Hunter-Landowner Stewardship test. Learn how to protect access, hunt safely, respect working lands, and understand landowner perspectives.

Anyone can take the test, and participants aged 18+ who pass can choose to enter the Protect the Hunt Raffle for donated hunts and gear.

MPG Ranch – Chaperoned Hunt
- The prize winner and a friend will get a chaperoned hunt on the MPG Ranch south of Missoula. The prize winner may harvest a management bull elk, and an antlerless elk or either-sex white-tailed deer on the ranch, located in hunting district 204. The friend can harvest an antlerless elk or an either-sex white-tailed deer and is required to complete & pass the Hunter-Landowner Stewardship video guide + test.
