In an effort to better serve our customers and to respond to realities of change technology, FWP has implemented a new License Ambassador system for external license sales.  

License Ambassadors are businesses that sell FWP licenses and permits to their customers. These sales happen via the public Online Licensing System (OLS) portal.  

FWP has made this change because the old license sales equipment is unreplaceable and outdated. This has prevented us from adding additional businesses and created costly inefficiencies for FWP and our partners. Additionally, with the wide-spread usage of our OLS, FWP can simplify our accounting of license sales by directing all sales through this system.  

License Ambassador Resources 

• Hotline: To help with the transition, FWP has set up a License Ambassador hotline, available Mon-Fri during normal business hours – 1-888-201-8226

• Sign up to be an Ambassador: If you haven't already, get started by emailing our Licensing team at fwplic@mt.gov. We'll provide details, answer your questions and get you registered.

• Marketing kits: We have created marketing material to help License Ambassadors promote this service at their business. These License Ambassador kits are free of charge. Kits will be mailed after you register your business as an Ambassador.
