All mountain lion hunting to close in HD's 321, 332 & 334


The hunting of all mountain lions in southwestern Montana hunting districts 321, 332 & 334 which include portions of Beaverhead, Silver Bow, and Deer Lodge counties, will close at one-half hour after sunset on Friday, Sept 25, 2020.

Gallatin River to close temporarily near Nixon Bridge


Bozeman, MT — A small section of the Gallatin River will be closed to recreationists next week during a phase of construction on Nixon Bridge, just north of Manhattan.

Youth Waterfowl and Pheasant Weekend approaches


Montana’s young hunters and their hunting mentors will have a special treat the weekend of September 26 and 27, when they can take advantage of a statewide youth-only waterfowl and pheasant hunt. Licensed hunters or apprentice hunters, 15 and under, will be able to hunt ducks, mergansers, geese, coots and pheasants statewide on these two days.

Wolf season to close in WMU 313


The hunting and trapping of all wolves in Montana Wolf Management Unit 313, which include portions of Park County, will close Monday, Sept. 21, 2020 at one half-hour after sunset.

Bighorn sheep season to close in HD 500


By order of the Montana Fish & Wildlife Commission, hunting district 500 in south central Montana, as described in the current Moose, Sheep and Goat regulations legal descriptions will close to hunting of ALL bighorn sheep, effective one-half hour after sunset on Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2020.
