FWP doing preliminary work to reopen Indian Fort FAS

Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks officials are doing the preliminary work needed to repair the access road to the Indian Fort fishing access site at Reed Point and reopen the area to vehicle traffic, possibly some time next spring.

UPLAND GAME BIRD COUNCIL TO MEET IN CONRAD

An advisory council that presented its recommendations on a long-range strategic plan for FWP’s Upland Game Bird Enhancement Program in 2012 will meet in Conrad Oct. 1 and 2 to review habitat enhancement activities that occurred during the 2018 field season.

FWP proposes small closure in Beattie Gulch for bison hunting

Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks is seeking public comment on a proposal to close a small portion of HD 385 in Beattie Gulch near Gardiner and on the border of Yellowstone National Park to bison hunting due to safety concerns.

FWP sets special archery deer hunt at Roundup

Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks has scheduled a special archery-only hunt for property in and around Roundup to reduce the number of mule deer in town. Special tags for the hunt go on sale on a first-come first-served basis starting at 5 a.m. Oct. 2, 2018, online or at any license dealer.
