Antlerless elk shoulder-season hunts are set to reduce elk populations in some areas in central Montana. Hunters must obtain permission to hunt on private lands – no need to register or to be selected from any roster. The post-season pilot projects are located hunting districts 410, 445, 446, 449, & 452.

Hunters, did you hunt on any Upland Game Bird Enhancement Program projects this year, such as habitat enhancement projects, Open Fields, or pheasant release sites? If you did, we’d like to hear about your experiences.
Happy hunting and thanks in advance for your feedback!
