Montana’s 2016 hunting and fishing licenses are on sale (beginning Monday, Feb. 1) under a new fee structure passed by the state legislature. Licenses will be available at all Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks license outlets.
Antlerless elk shoulder-season hunts are set to reduce elk populations in some areas in central Montana. Hunters must obtain permission to hunt on private lands – no need to register or to be selected from any roster. The post-season pilot projects are located hunting districts 410, 445, 446, 449, & 452.
Our online license service is currently down. We are aware of the problem and will let you know as soon as it is fixed. If you want to purchase a surplus hunting license, Tendoy bighorn sheep license or wolf license, please visit your nearest FWP office or license provider. We apologize for the inconvenience.
