Summer Motorized Trail Pass Grants Deadline

Feb 1, 2021 12:00 AM

Feb 1, 2021 3:00 PM

The deadline to apply for the Summer Motorized Trail Pass Grants is Monday, February 1st at 3pm.

The new SMTP Program provides grant funding to OHV Clubs and Organizations for resource maintenance, protection, signage, and the improvement of federally designated motorized trails and riding areas in Montana.  Funding for the grant program comes from revenues from the sale of the OHV Resident Trail Pass.

Montana State Parks administers the SMTP grant program with funds appropriated by the State Legislature, and is assisted in grant allocation by the State Trails Advisory Committee (STAC). The STAC is comprised of citizens throughout Montana who have a vested interest in managing recreation opportunities as a valuable resource. Both user groups and land management agencies are represented on the STAC. This diverse group influences the equitable distribution of grant funding to valuable projects throughout the state.

The 2021 application period is open from November 2, 2020 to February 1, 2021 at 3:00pm MST.

Applications must be submitted online through WebGrants (https://funding.mt.gov). Applications will not be accepted after 3:00pm MST on February 1, 2021. An organization can only submit one grant application per grant cycle.
