User Agreement

Maps from the Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks (FWP) Hunt Planner are intended for use as a guide. It is every hunter's responsibility to know the land ownership of the area they are hunting, the hunting regulations, and any restrictions that may apply. Regulations booklets contain official rules and regulations and are available from the FWP website and at regional offices. Users are responsible for verifying information from this application before hunting, using access programs, or pursuing other recreational opportunities by referring to current FWP regulation booklets and website. Use the help tool (?), read through the FAQs or watch one of the short video tutorials to learn more.

Block Management Area (BMA) information obtained from this mapping system MUST be used in conjunction with current individual BMA property maps produced by FWP. BMA property maps (available in August) contain detailed information regarding hunting rules specific to the property including, but not limited to, timing restrictions, internal exclusion zones, weapons restrictions, species restrictions, open/closed roads, trails, map boxes, and sign in boxes. Rules and methods for obtaining permission are specific to each BMA and vary from region to region. BMA information displayed on the Hunt Planner is intended to provide an opportunity to view rules and maps for each property.

FWP is not responsible for any errors, omissions, or positional inaccuracy and there are no warranties associated with this product. In no event shall Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks be liable for any damages whatsoever resulting from or in connection with the use or misuse of the information herein provided.

Known Issues

The Hunt Planner is actively being improved to integrate enhancements and address issues.

  • Browser Support: Older web browsers may not be supported
    • Chrome - 101.0.4951.41

    • Firefox - 90.0
  • Map does not display: Try clearing the web browser cache and cookies
    • PC: Ctrl + Shift + Delete for Chrome, Firefox and Edge
    • Mac: Safari > Preferences > Privacy > Manage Website Data for Safari
  • Mobile Device Use:
    • iPhone Tool Menus: Partially hidden by the header, touch outside the tool panel to close.
    • Header Menu: Text labels may not appear.
  • Print Map: Maps may not include all legend items and labels
  • Tool Icons: 'Customize Map' and 'Harvest Opportunities' do not show the 'collapse' icon when open. Click the icon to close the tool.
