Several mountain lion hunting districts to close in regions 2, 3 & 4

The hunting of all mountain lions in western Montana hunting districts 212, 215 and 217 which includes portions of Granite, Powell, Deer Lodge and Silver Bow counties, will close at one half hour after sunset on Tuesday, February 9, 2021.

The hunting of all mountain lions in hunting district 314, which includes portions of Gallatin and Park counties, will close at one-half hour after sunset on Tuesday, February 9, 2021.

The hunting of all mountain lions in southwestern Montana hunting districts 390 and 391, which include portions of Broadwater, Gallatin, and Meagher counties, will close at one-half hour after sunset on Tuesday, February 9, 2021.

The hunting of female mountain lions in northcentral Montana hunting districts 405, 447 and 471, which includes portions of Cascade, Chouteau, Judith Basin, and Fergus counties, will close at one-half hour after sunset on Tuesday, February 9, 2021.

 

The order halting the hunts came shortly after Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks officials received word that the pre-established harvest quotas and sub-quotas for lions in the districts listed above had been met.
