West Fork Madison River Bridge Construction USFS FWP-DN-FSH-R3-25-025

The USFS proposes to build a bridge across the West Fork Madison River. The bridge will span the West Fork Madison Trail #6700 near Miller Flats trailhead, to serve as the new crossing point on the trail, eliminating the use of a ford crossing for motorized trail recreationalists. This project will replace the ford, which is about 60’ downriver. The agency will install a longer (60 ft.) and taller (5 ft. freeboard height) bridge to minimize impacts to the stream channel and better protect the structure from high flows.
