SPA 124 Permit Decision Notice - Wet Creek culvert - FWP-CEA-FSH-R4-25-028

Jun 2, 2025 3:27 PM

United States Forest Service has proposed to install a culvert on Wet Creek for a temporary logging road. FWP requires that the culvert be removed and the bank be returned to natural conditions once the temporary road is removed.

Wet Creek is a tributary to Moose Creek in the Smith River drainage. No fisheries information is available for Wet Creek, but Moose Creek primarily contains brook trout, rainbow trout, rainbow x westslope cutthroat trout, and Rocky Mountain sculpin. Wet Creek likely does not provide fish spawning habitat at the site of the project due to the small amount of flow and location in the top of the drainage.

United States Forest Service is the sponsor of the project and has a planned implementation schedule of August 2025.

Based on the environmental review provided in the Draft EA, and, to the greatest extent possible, in accordance with all applicable laws, rules, regulations, and policies, FWP determined the proposed action (Alternative 2), will not have significant adverse impacts on the human environment associated with the proposed action and constitutes a reasonable and appropriate strategy to achieve identified objectives. Therefore, preparation of an environmental impact statement or EIS is unnecessary.

FWP hereby adopts the Draft EA as final and approves Alternative 2, the Proposed Action.
