SPA 124- Bonneville Power Administration Beaver Dam Removal at Taft on St. Regis River

Decision Notice

The proposed project will remove a single beaver dam at the Taft site to protect adjacent infrastructure. The project may be completed by hand or with the use of heavy equipment. In either case, the adjacent riparian area and stream bed will not be disturbed. The project is expected to be completed in winter or spring fall of 2025.

Based on the environmental review provided in the Draft EA, and, to the greatest extent possible, in accordance with all applicable laws, rules, regulations, and policies, FWP determined the proposed action (Alternative 2) will not have significant adverse impacts on the human environment and constitutes a reasonable and appropriate strategy to achieve identified objectives. Therefore, preparation of an environmental impact statement or EIS is unnecessary. The project will allow removal of a single beaver dam on the St Regis River at Taft.

FWP hereby adopts the Draft EA as final and approves Alternative 2, the Proposed Action.
