Decision Notice

Missoula County Parks, Trails, and Open Lands is proposing to relocate about a 100-yard section of trail on Missoula County and a neighboring private property easement along the Bitterroot River near Lolo, Montana in Riverside Park. The project proposal will reduce riverbank erosion, improve riparian conditions, and provide a safe travel route for recreationists that ties into adjacent trail segments along a heavily used river corridor near Lolo, Montana.

Based on the environmental review provided in the Draft EA, and, to the greatest extent possible, in accordance with all applicable laws, rules, regulations, and policies, FWP determined the proposed action (Alternative 2) will not have significant adverse impacts on the human environment and constitutes a reasonable and appropriate strategy to achieve identified objectives. Therefore, preparation of an environmental impact statement or EIS is unnecessary. The project will allow Missoula County to implement trail improvements in Riverside Park. FWP hereby adopts the Draft EA as final and approves Alternative 2, the Proposed Action.
