Cree Crossing Habitat Improvement Projects Decision Notice
May 28, 2024 1:14 PM
FWP proposed four separate habitat improvement projects on Cree Crossing WMA with the goal to improve habitat for both migratory and upland game birds by increasing nesting cover, structural complexity, plant diversity, and year-round forage for upland game birds and other wildlife species. Cree Crossing WMA currently provides lower quality nesting habitat for upland birds. Improving their habitat would allow more opportunity for hunters and wildlife viewers to recreate.
Based on the environmental review provided in the Draft EA, and in accordance with all applicable laws, rules, regulations, and policies, FWP determined the proposed action (Alternative 2), will not have significant adverse impacts on the human environment associated with the proposed action and constitutes a reasonable and appropriate strategy to achieve identified objectives. Therefore, preparation of an EIS is unnecessary. FWP hereby adopts the Draft EA as final and approves the proposed action.
