A beaver pond puts the Eagle Creek Campground at risk through flooding of a side channel. The installation of the pond leveler will lower the water elevation in the pond and prevent high flows from entering the side channel and compromise the campground. A 12-inch diameter pipe will be installed two feet below the top of the beaver dam. The pipe will extend approximately 20 feet downstream of the dam to prevent beavers from plugging the leveler. The upstream end of the pipe will extend 5 feet into the pond and protected by a 4’x4’x5’ cage with 4”x4” openings to prevent beavers from plugging it. The work is scheduled to take place between 5/6/24 and 5/31/24.
