SPA124 Permit USFS-Seeley Ranger District Stream Crossing Removals
Jun 19, 2024 9:37 AM
Decision Notice
The Seeley Ranger district proposes to decommission numerous roads and remove 18 road crossings in the Cottonwood Creek and Trail Creek drainages. There are 10 road-stream crossings on two unnamed tributaries to upper Cottonwood Creek, two crossings within the Trail Creek drainage, and six crossings in the Little Shanley and Black Canyon drainages. The purpose of this project is to improve hydrologic function and reduce sedimentation by eliminating road-stream interactions in headwater drainages containing native trout.
Based on the environmental review provided in the Draft EA, and, to the greatest extent possible, in accordance with all applicable laws, rules, regulations, and policies, FWP determined the proposed action (Alternative 2), will not have significant adverse impacts on the human environment associated and constitutes a reasonable and appropriate strategy to achieve identified objectives. Therefore, preparation of an environmental impact statement or EIS is unnecessary. FWP hereby adopts the Draft EA as final and approves Alternative 2, the Proposed Action.
