SPA 124 Permit DNRC-Spring Creek Bridge and Culvert Installations

Jun 19, 2024 10:06 AM

Decision Notice

The DNRC has applied for a SPA 124 permit to install a bridge at an existing ford on Spring Creek and replace a log culvert with a metal culvert on an unnamed tributary to Spring Creek. The proposed stream crossings are part of a proposed timber sale. The existing crossings do not meet Montana Forestry Best Management Practices (BMPs). These crossings would also allow for permanent access for future monitoring and management of half of the DNRC section.

Based on the environmental review provided in the Draft EA, and, to the greatest extent possible, in accordance with all applicable laws, rules, regulations, and policies, FWP determined the proposed action (Alternative 2), will not have significant adverse impacts on the human environment and constitutes a reasonable and appropriate strategy to achieve identified objectives. Therefore, preparation of an environmental impact statement or EIS is unnecessary. FWP hereby adopts the Draft EA as final and approves Alternative 2, the Proposed Action.
