Big Spring Creek Fergus County Decision Notice
Jul 30, 2024 8:28 AM
Fergus County has applied for an SPA 124 Permit to replace rock rip-rap at the Scott Crossing Road bridge abutment where it crosses Big Spring Creek. Class III/IV rip-rap would be selectively placed using an excavator to fill the current voids in the abutment protection. The purpose of the proposed project is to replace rip-rap abutment protection at the Scott Crossing Road bridge over Big Spring Creek where recent flow events have scoured into the bank protection, with the goal of ensuring the continued function of the road crossing.
Based on the environmental review provided in the Draft EA, and, to the greatest extent possible, in accordance with all applicable laws, rules, regulations, and policies, FWP determined the proposed action (Alternative 2), will not have significant adverse impacts on the human environment associated with the proposed action and constitutes a reasonable and appropriate strategy to achieve identified objectives. Therefore, preparation of an environmental impact statement or EIS is unnecessary.
FWP hereby adopts the Draft EA as final and approves Alternative 2, the Proposed Action.
