Sixmile Creek Bank Stabilization at Milepost 3.2 FWP-DN-FSH-R3-24-158

Aug 2, 2024 4:37 PM

The road embankment adjacent to the stream was significantly eroded by flood waters. Currently, streambanks adjacent to the road edge are exceptionally steep and in some locations vertical, leaving the road vulnerable to undermining and collapse during high flow events. Bank heights range from approximately 6-8 feet.

The project involves placement of 20 linear feet of bank riprap protection to prevent further damage to the road and eventual failure. Materials used to accomplish the project include Class 5 riprap, compacted road embankment material, and aggregate base on the driving surface of the road.

The proposed dates for work are 7/1/2024 to 10/30/2025.
