Decision Notice
This project involves repair of structural damage to a 200 ft portion of the certified flood levee that runs between the St Regis River and the town of St Regis. Planned work includes removal of woody vegetation on the damaged portion of the levee, installation of rock rip rap at the toe, and regrading of the levee slope to meet US Army Corp of Engineers standards.
Based on the environmental review provided in the Draft EA, and, to the greatest extent possible, in accordance with all applicable laws, rules, regulations, and policies, FWP determined the proposed action (Alternative 2) will not have significant adverse impacts on the human environment and constitutes a reasonable and appropriate strategy to achieve identified objectives. Therefore, preparation of an environmental impact statement or EIS is unnecessary. The project will allow Mineral County to implement planned repairs to the levee along 200 feet of the St Regis River as described in the permit application.
FWP hereby adopts the Draft EA as final and approves Alternative 2, the Proposed Action.
