Swinging Bridge Fishing Access Site Rehabilitation Decision Notice

On April 19, 2023, Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks (FWP) issued a draft Environmental Assessment (EA) for rehabilitation work at Swinging Bridge Fishing Access Site (FAS) along the Stillwater River. Swinging Bridge FAS was heavily damaged in the 2022 flood event and has been closed for public use since June of last year.
The EA proposed work to repair damages and rebuild infrastructure in order to safely open the FAS for full public use.
Based on the environmental review provided in the draft EA, and in accordance with all applicable laws, rules, regulations, and policies, FWP determined the proposed action (Alternative 2), as modified, will not have significant adverse impacts on the human environment associated with the proposed action and constitutes a reasonable and appropriate strategy to achieve identified objectives. Therefore, preparation of an EIS is unnecessary.
With this DN, FWP hereby adopts the Final EA, with modifications, and approves the proposed action.
