Intake FAS Water System Improvement Decision Notice

Jun 9, 2023 9:02 AM

On May 23, 2023, Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks (FWP) issued an Environmental Assessment Checklist proposed to replace 2,200 feet of water line and associated frost-proof hydrants and fixtures at Intake Fishing Access Site (FAS) in Dawson County, Montana. The existing water system at Intake FAS is at the end of its useful life and is starting to fail. Reliable potable water is important at Intake FAS and heavily used by visitors to the site. The project will maintain access to potable water for visitors to Intake FAS.
Based on the environmental review provided in the Draft EA, and in accordance with all applicable laws, rules, regulations, and policies, FWP determined the proposed action (Alternative 2), will not have significant adverse impacts on the human environment associated with the proposed action and constitutes a reasonable and appropriate strategy to achieve identified objectives. Therefore, preparation of an EIS is unnecessary.  FWP hereby adopts the Draft EA as final and approves the Alternative 2, the proposed action.
