Lost Creek State Park Site Improvement Projects - Draft EA

The Environmental Assessment (EA) below has been prepared for Lost Creek State Park for the purpose of improving public access within the park and to protect the resource from further degradation. Proposed developments include construction of a 0.5 mile section of new trail,  a new parking area, and improvements to existing campsite areas within the park. The new trail would eliminate some of the excess social trails that currently lead to the same areas within the park,  provide access for new hiking opportunities, and offer a unique viewshed to this incredible drainage. No parking area currently exists at the proposed trailhead, so this project would create space for direct access the new trail thus improving visitor safety by directing traffic off the existing narrow roadway. Some to of the current tent site pads have degraded over time and need reconstruction to provide a level camping surface for park visitors.
