Decision Notice FY22 Great Falls Shooting Sports Complex Shooting Range Grant

Montana Fish Wildlife & Parks (FWP) released a draft environmental assessment (EA) for a Shooting Range Development Grant proposal from the Great Falls Shooting Sports Complex (GFSSC). 

FWP will provide up to $32, 835 in funding for projects deemed eligible for GFSSC’s proposed improvements of building or installing drainage materials, trenching, and catch basins; 200 Yard Range Concrete Walk; 50 Yard Range Concrete Walk; Sidewalk & ADA Parking Spots; ADA Parking Slab; ADA Deck added to existing Classroom Building; ADA Deck Cover over the ADA ramp & deck; ADA Ramp; Sound Mitigation for 200 & 50 Yard Ranges. 

The GFSSC is located approximately 5 miles north of Great Falls, Montana, one mile east of Highway 87, at 171 Morony Dam Road, Great Falls, MT, 59405, Lat. 47.5730378, Long. 111.223764, Sections 15 and 16, Township 21 North, Range 4 East. 

A Draft EA was made available for public review and comment on FWP’s website (http://fwp.mt.gov/, “news/Public-Notices”) from May 5, 2021 to May 21, 2021. A legal notice was also published in the Great Falls Tribune newspaper on May 10, 2021.

Based on public and internal review, the Draft EA will be adopted as the Final EA. This Decision Notice and the Final EA will serve as the final documents pertaining to this action.
