Proposed Public Access Improvements for Fort Owen State Park--Decision Notice

FWP has issued a Decision Notice (DN) for Region 2 State Parks’ proposal to develop a parking area and improve public access to Fort Owen State Park (SP) via a recently acquired 0.9-acre parcel of property located immediately south of the SP (located 1-mile northwest of Stevensville in Ravalli County). The development would address decades-old challenges for management, improve access to this historic site, and reduce trespass issues for the adjacent landowner. With the DN, FWP accepts the draft EA as final and selects proposed action (Alternative A) to proceed with the project.
