Decision Notice FY22 West Yellowstone Shooting Sports Association Shooting Range Grant

Montana Fish Wildlife & Parks (FWP) released a draft environmental assessment (EA) for a Shooting Range Development Grant proposal from the West Yellowstone Shooting Sports Association (WYSSA).

 FWP will provide up to $2,614 in funding for projects deemed eligible for WYSSA’s proposed improvements to the range access road and constructing a path from the shooting benches to the 200-yard target. 

The WYSSA Target Range is located approximately three miles south of West Yellowstone, Montana, on Park Edge Road; Lat. 44.6245166, Long. -111.098305; Section 10, Township 14 South, Range 5 East. 

A Draft EA was made available for public review and comment on FWP’s website (http://fwp.mt.gov/, “news/Public-Notices”) from May 12, 2021 to May 28, 2021. A legal notice was also published in the Bozeman Daily Chronicle newspaper on May 14, 2021.

Based on public and internal review, the Draft EA will be adopted as the Final EA. This Decision Notice and the Final EA will serve as the final documents pertaining to this action.
