Decision Notice Kootenai Forestlands Phase II Conservation Easement Draft Environmental Assessment

Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks (FWP) is recommending that the Fish and Wildlife Commission approve the purchase of a conservation easement on approximately 27,289 acres of Stimson Lumber Company property east and south of Libby, MT. FWP released a draft EA for the Kootenai Forestlands Phase II Conservation Easement for public comment from June 29 to July 28, 2021, and held a public hearing in Libby on July 14. FWP received 71 public comments that are addressed in the decision notice. Copies of the decision notice are available on the FWP website at https://fwp.mt.gov/news/public-notices or at the FWP office, 490 N. Meridian Rd. in Kalispell.
