First Peoples Buffalo Jump State Park seeks volunteers

GREAT FALLS - First Peoples Buffalo Jump State Park depends on volunteers throughout the year to assist in a variety of events and activities in the park. Whether its welcoming visitors at the front desk of the visitor center, leading a guided hike for Montana students on a field trip, helping with a special summer festival or just assisting with work on the trails and grounds throughout the year, the park relies heavily upon its dedicated volunteers and is always seeking new people to assist in fulfilling its mission and assisting visitors.
In addition to general volunteers needed throughout the visitor season, the park has two events in need of volunteers in upcoming weeks.
Thursday, April 17: The park will hold an event to help remove noxious weeds along the cliffs in the park from 6 to 7 p.m. Volunteers should meet at the visitor center about 15 minutes early. Gloves and water will be provided, or you can bring your favorite gloves. Volunteers should wear closed-toe shoes, long-sleeved shirts and pants.
Tuesday, April 22: The park will celebrate Earth Day by holding a landscaping event to beautify areas in the park from 4 to 6 p.m. Gloves and water will be provided, and volunteers should dress to work outdoors.
Please register in advance for these volunteer activities at 406-866-2217 or by emailing firstpeoplesbuffalojump@mt.gov. Contact the park for more information about becoming a regular volunteer at First Peoples Buffalo Jump State Park.
First Peoples Buffalo Jump State Park is located 3.5 miles north of Ulm, just off Interstate 15 at exit 270. Find out more about the park at fwp.mt.gov/stateparks/first-peoples-buffalo-jump.
