FWP announces Open Fields enrollment period

HELENA – Producers now have until April 25 to apply for Open Fields for Game Bird Hunters or other lease options administered through the Upland Game Bird Enhancement Program.     

Open Fields is a collaborative conservation effort involving FWP’s Upland Game Bird Enhancement Program, private landowners and the USDA Farm Service Agency to manage CRP and other high-value cover in a wildlife-friendly way while providing public walk-in game bird hunting.  

Funding for Open Fields is limited this year, and landowners interested in enrollment are encouraged to submit their applications early.
