BILLINGS – Have you always wanted to leave a lasting impression at one of Montana’s busiest state parks? Now is your opportunity. Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks is currently seeking design submissions for a mural to be painted on the Lake Elmo beach comfort station.
Mural designs should be appropriate for all ages, eye-catching and reflect the theme “What brings you joy at Lake Elmo?” The space for the mural is 7 feet 9 inches tall by 34 feet 10 inches wide.
FWP will provide the supplies to paint the mural but the artist will not be compensated. FWP staff can assist the artist if requested. Painting is anticipated to be completed by early November, weather permitting.
To enter the contest, send your mural design concept and two artwork samples to Lake Elmo manager Emily Tyler at Emily.Tyler@mt.gov. Design submissions will be accepted until Friday, Oct. 4, at 5 p.m.
Submissions will be evaluated by FWP staff based on creativity. The top three designs will be posted online and the public will vote to select the winning design.
