Robb-Ledford Wildlife Management Area Motorized Travel Management Revision

FWP proposes to revise the routes open to motorized travel within the Robb-Ledford Wildlife Management Area to: 1) increase elk security and retention during the general rifle hunting season; 2) improve non-motorized hunting opportunity within the WMA; and 3) reduce soil erosion and noxious weed establishment.

Comments due Sept. 20.

2 Dog Road DNRC Easement EA

FWP proposes to acquire an approximate 86-acre easement (2 Dog Road Easement) from the Montana Department of Natural Resources and Conservation (DNRC). Ultimately, the proposed 2 Dog Road Easement would facilitate future development of a formal, FWP-operated public shooting range to replace the existing informal shooting area at the affected site located along the I-90 corridor outside of Logan. If the proposed 2 Dog Road Easement is approved, FWP would then initiate a process for approval and development of the shooting range. At that time, FWP would prepare and publicly process subsequent environmental review pursuant to the Montana Environmental Policy Act.

Comments due Sept. 20.

Bootjack and Leon Lakes Burbot Introduction Draft EA

FWP is proposing to stock burbot into Bootjack Lake and Leon Lake. Bootjack and Leon lakes are closed basin lakes in the Thompson Chain of Lakes south of Highway 2 near Happy’s Inn. The proposed action is being considered to provide angling opportunity, reduce density of illegally introduced yellow perch thus reducing competition with and predation on stocked rainbow trout, and improve individual growth rates of existing game fish populations.

Comments due Sept. 21.

Lone Pine State Park Forest Thinning Project Scoping Notice
