All About Snakes program at First Peoples Buffalo Jump State Park

May 7, 2024 3:48 PM

GREAT FALLS - While snakes may not be known for being especially talkative, visitors to First Peoples Buffalo Jump Park can spend an afternoon talking and learning about them at the “All About Snakes” program on Saturday, May 18, beginning at 1 p.m.

The free program will be presented by Dan “The Snake Man” Waitt and will teach about the behavior and ecology of Montana snakes and how to safely navigate the trails in the park during the summer snake season, as well as dispel some of the common myths and calm fears for people uncomfortable around snakes.

This informative program will take place exclusively inside the First Peoples Buffalo Jump classroom and does not include a hike. Seating capacity in the park’s classroom is suitable for 50 people, and will be available on a first come, first served basis.

First Peoples Buffalo Jump Park is located 3.5 miles north of Ulm. For directions or more information about the park visit stateparks.mt.gov/first-peoples-buffalo-jump
