Women's ice fishing class offered in Lewistown

GREAT FALLS - Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks “Becoming an Outdoors Woman” program will hold a women’s ice fishing class in Lewistown. The class will be held Friday Feb. 2 at the Lewistown BLM office from 5:30 to 8 p.m., and on Saturday Feb. 3 from 8 a.m. to noon at East Fork Reservoir near Lewistown.

The class is offered for the beginning or intermediate angler who wishes to learn or improve their ice fishing skills along with a group of women with similar interests. On Friday evening the class will discuss clothing, equipment, techniques, and ice safety, while the Saturday morning class will offer students a hands-on chance to practice and refine their ice fishing skills.

All equipment, tackle and supplies are provided, and no fishing license is needed for the class. Cost is $10, and participants must be 18 or older to attend.
