Sep 1, 2022 3:32 PM

GREAT FALLS – Montana Fish, Wildlife, & Parks Region 4 will host a fishing regulations meeting beginning at 7 p.m. on Sept. 7, at the FWP Region 4 headquarters in Great Falls. Anglers and the public are invited to attend and learn about changes proposed to fishing regulations both statewide and in Region 4.

FWP recently adopted a new fishing regulation process, moving from a four-year cycle to a two-year cycle. As part of the new process, FWP solicited ideas from the public on what regulation changes to consider and has developed 42 proposals for the 2023/2024 Montana Fishing Regulations. The proposals can be reviewed online at https://fwp.mt.gov/aboutfwp/public-comment-opportunities.

The public can comment from Aug. 26 to Sept. 22 on the department’s proposals for the 2023-2024 regulation season. Comments on the proposed regulations can be submitted online at https://fwp.mt.gov/aboutfwp/public-comment-opportunities, emailed to fwpfishcomments@mt.gov, or sent to FWP Fishing Regulations, P.O. Box 200701, Helena, MT 59620.

Final commission actions on the proposed regulations are scheduled to occur at the Oct. 20th commission meeting.
