FWP takes four firsts in national conservation communications competition

HELENA – The Association for Conservation Information awarded Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks top honors in two communications categories at the organization’s annual awards ceremony held virtually on July 27.

FWP took first place in several categories, including:

  • Social Media Campaign: “Lake Elmo Invasive Clam Removal”
  • Best Social Media Conservation Post: #Tuesdays with Torrey: Golden Eagle
  • Magazine Article: General Interest Category: “On the Prowl" (FWP AIS field crews)
  • Magazine Article: Wildlife Category: “Tracking Wildlife’s Ups and Downs” (wildlife population monitoring)

Formed in 1938, the ACI is a nonprofit organization of communicators working for state, federal, and private conservation agencies and organizations.

In vying for the honors, FWP’s staff competes against states across the country.

“Our outreach staff continue to do excellent work in promoting the outdoor resources we have in Montana, as well as all the good work our FWP does on a daily basis,” said FWP communication and education division administrator Greg Lemon.
