Noxious weed pull at Giant Springs State Park
Apr 5, 2022 3:36 PM
GREAT FALLS - Join with park staff and other volunteers to learn about and help remove weeds spreading Giant Springs State Park, as the park celebrates a belated Earth Day with a noxious weed pull from 2 to 4 p.m. on April 23.
Noxious weeds affect more than just the aesthetics of the land. They spread quickly and displace native plants, depriving wildlife of food and damaging the local ecosystem. As the weather warms up, this is the perfect time to pull some of these plants before they can seed and spread even further throughout the park.
Participants will meet at the Ranger Station before walking to the kid’s fishing pond to pull knapweed. Please wear long pants and closed toe shoes, and bring garden gloves and safety glasses if available.
Pre-registration is requested. For more information or to sign up, please contact the Ranger Station at 406-727-1212.
