ENNIS – Several portions of Ennis Fishing Access Site are open again for public use.
Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks staff worked diligently to clear debris and repair roads that were damaged by ice jams and flooding. The main entrance road, parking area and boat ramp are now open, in addition to a few camping sites by the riverbank.
The east loop road and east camping area are still closed but are expected to be open by May 4 after FWP staff can address hazard trees in that area, weather permitting.
Ennis Fishing Access Site is a half mile southeast of Ennis along the Madison River. The site’s closure began in December when ice jams caused water, ice and debris to flow into the site. Recent weather has allowed FWP staff to make necessary repairs.
