Fall archery-only season for black bears to close in BMU 700

MILES CITY – The black bear archery-only season in Southeastern Montana will close on Wednesday, Sept. 8.

The fall either-sex, archery-only quota for black bears has been met in Black Bear Management Unit 700, triggering early closure of the archery-only season. The season was scheduled to close Sept. 14.

By order of the Montana Fish & Wildlife Commission, BMU 700 will be closed at a half-hour past sunset on Sept. 8 for the remainder of the archery-only season to hunting of all black bears.
