Montana WILD to offer free winter break activities

HELENA – Montana WILD will offer several activities during the school winter break.

Reptiles and Amphibians in Winter – Hybrid program, Monday, Dec. 27, 3 to 4 p.m.

In this talk we will dip our toes into the exciting world of herpetology, learn about the reptile and amphibian that call Montana home, and even meet a few of these native species. This hybrid program will be both in person and streamed to Facebook Live. Registration is required for in person only. Information will be geared towards students ages 8 and up. Live Raptor Programs, Tuesday, Dec. 28, 10 a.m. and 3 p.m.

There will be one program in the morning and another in the afternoon. Learn about the amazing raptor species that call Montana home. We will investigate what makes raptors unique from other types of birds and why they are so important to our ecosystems. You will also get a chance to meet live raptors from the Montana WILD Wildlife Rehabilitation Center. Registration is required; please call 406-444-9941 or send an email to Jeanne.connolly@mt.gov.

Winter Wildlife Crafts, drop in anytime Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The Montana WILD classroom has been transformed into a winter wildlife craft room. Come make pinecone reindeer, an intricate snowflake, coloring pages and more.
