Wolves Delisted in Montana
The gray wolf is delisted from the federal Endangered Species Act, as of May 4, 2009. Montana's state laws, state regulations, and management plan replace federal regulations. Gray wolves are protected and managed as a Montana species in need of management. Renewed legal challenges are expected, so check back often for the latest information.

Monitoring Reports
Flight monitoring reports present information on the whereabouts of collared wolves on the day of the flight. Every 4-6 weeks, FWP staff fly to observe wolf packs and obtain counts throughout the year. Flight reports are grouped for packs according to geographic area. Look for the area of interest.
