    (Helena, MT) – Montana State Parks (stateparks.mt.gov) announced today that Smith River State Park and the river corridor has reopened effective Tuesday, April 10, 2018. The state park had been temporarily closed since April 3, 2018 for public safety reasons. Intermittent ice jams had made the river impassible, but recent warmer weather has led to improved river conditions.

    (Lolo, MT) – Montana State Parks (stateparks.mt.gov) announced today that construction has begun on the Crossroads Interpretive Plaza at Travelers’ Rest State Park. The project, first proposed over a year ago had been stalled due to insufficient funding. However, a group of local individuals led by Jackson Contractor Group of Missoula have stepped forward to make the project a reality.
