Environmental Assessment - 8/9/2007
Bull River Wildlife Management Area Noggle Creek Addition

Fish, Wildlife & Parks proposes to acquire approximately 255 acres of important wildlife habitat on Noggle Creek for $l,657,500 using Habitat Montana funds. The acquisition represents an addition to the existing Bull River Wildlife Management Area in Sanders and Lincoln Counties at the south end of Bull Lake. The project would secure valuable habitat for wide-ranging wildlife, including grizzly bears, elk, and other species dependent on the wetlands and forest. The project would also maintain public access to the project area for recreational uses. The draft is out for a 4-week public review through Friday, September 7, 2007. A public hearing for the project is scheduled for Wednesday, September 5, 2007, at 6:00 p.m. at the Kootenai Senior Citizens Center, 304 3rd Street in Troy, Montana. A copy of the draft is attached for your review. Please contact R-1 Wildlife Manager Jim Williams, (406) 751-4585 or e-mail to jiwilliams@mt.gov, with questions or comments.
