A 46-mile section of the upper Big Hole River will close to all fishing due to low flows.
A full angling closure will go into effect at 12 a.m. on Aug. 31 from Saginaw Bridge on Skinner Meadow Road to the north fork of the Big Hole River. The closure will remain in effect until daily flow is greater than 40 cubic feet per second (CFS) for seven days, or no later than October 31. Read more >>

A fishing closure that includes a 46-mile section of the upper Big Hole River will be lifted due to an increase in stream flows.
The full angling closure, which went into effect on Aug. 31, will be lifted at midnight on the morning of Wednesday, Sept. 25. The closure extended from Saginaw Bridge on Skinner Meadow Road to the North Fork of the Big Hole River.

A daily closure on an 18-mile stretch of the lower Big Hole River has been lifted due to cooler water temperatures.
A hoot owl restriction was put in place on Aug. 8 due to a seasonal rise in water temperatures. The closure applied from Notch Bottom Fishing Access Site to the confluence with the Beaverhead River.
