Fishing & Waterbodies

Read news releases are about emergency conditions of waterbodies or parts thereof, that may affect your fishing or other recreational activities. These emergencies may be due to fire, drought, weather, or other unforeseen dangers.

Wildlife Management Areas

Read news releases are about emergency fire and/or drought conditions that may affect your recreational use of Wildlife Management Areas as well as other public lands.

Find a list of all WMAs currently affected by restrictions or closures, including fire restrictions and closures. Please check waterbodies (above) as well to ensure the appropriate waterbody doesn't have other restrictions.

WMAs that provide critical winter range for big game are typically close to public use from December 1 to noon on May 15. WMA open and close dates may vary.
