This Environmental Assessment proposes to restore westslope cutthroat trout to McVey Creek, a tributary to the Big Hole River near Melrose, MT. This project proposes to accomlish its goal by: constructing a fish migration barrier, removing non-native brook trout upstream of the barrier using rotenone, salvaging native fish, including non hybridized westslope cutthroat trout, prior to treatment, and releasing the salvaged trout back into the stream once treatment is complete.
