Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks (FWP) seeks public review of its proposal to implement a site improvement and protection project at the River Junction Fishing Access Site (FAS) near the town of Ovando in Powell County. Projects include making repairs to the access road, creating a parking area with 8-12 parking spaces, relocating the existing campsites and adding up to three more, and improving the pioneered boat ramp. The purpose is to accommodate existing public recreational use, prevent further degradation of the site and reduce impacts to this stretch of the Blackfoot River. A draft environmental assessment (EA) for this proposal is available for review and comment below.
