Lewis & Clark Caverns State Park Hiking Trails EA
Development, Improvements, and Enhancements - 11/22/2006

An Environmental Assessment (EA) has been prepared for the proposed Lewis & Clark Caverns State Park Hiking Trails Phase II. This project proposes to develop about 6.5 miles of new trails in current semi-developed and non-developed portions of Lewis & Clark Caverns State Park. The proposed Sheep Gulch Trail would open the western part of the park to hiking visitors and would connect the visitor center area to Highway 2 near the Jefferson River. The proposed Campground Loop Trail just east of the visitor center parking lot would progress south to provide an alternate and more direct connection with the campground. Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks invites you to comment on the attached proposal. The public comment period will be accepted until 5:00 p.m. Friday, December 29, 2006.
