Marshall Creek WMA EA
Acquisitions, Trades & Leases - 07/29/2010

FWP seeks public review of its proposal to acquire a 24,170-acre Wildlife Management Area (WMA) northwest of Seeley Lake, in Missoula County; it would be named the Marshall Creek WMA. The purpose of this proposal is to secure critical fish and wildlife habitat and to maintain compatible recreational opportunities and access for the public. A draft environmental assessment, management plan and socio-economic assessment have been prepared for this proposal. Comments should be directed by: mail to Region 2 FWP, 3201 Spurgin Rd., Missoula, MT 59804; phone to 406-542-5500; or email to MarshallWMA@mt.gov. Comments must be received by FWP no later than 5:00 p.m. on August 31, 2010. FWP will hold a public hearing in Seeley Lake on August 12 (Thursday) at 7:00 p.m. at the Seeley Lake Community Center (east side of MT Highway 83, immediately north of the town of Seeley Lake) to discuss the proposed acquisition and take public comment
