FWP Commission approved the tentative Commercial Use Permit Biennial Fee Rule on October 13 and instructed the Department to begin the public involvement process. The Commission is scheduled to make its final decision at its December meeting. Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks is seeking public comment on changes to commercial-use fees at FWP's State Parks, fishing access sites and wildlife management areas. The proposed changes would establish a minimum annual fee for water-based outfitters and would assess a late fee for failing to pay permit fees or submit records on time. There is also a proposal to clarify the department’s role in selecting a fee system from the various options in the fee rule.
